- COALITION FORCES STRIKE IRAQI AIR DEFENSE FACILITIES 25 Sept 2002-- In response to Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to strike Iraqi air defense facilities near Al Kufa, approximately 80 miles south of Baghdad , and Al Basrah, approximately 245 miles southeast of Baghdad, at approximately 4:45 p.m. EDT.
- SCHAEFER-ELAND/IRAQ VOA 25 Sept 2002-- Bret Schaefer of the Heritage Foundation and Ivan Eland, Director of Policy for the Cato Institute, debate whether military action should be taken against Iraq. Schaefer is a foreign policy analyst and is a Jay Kingham Fellow in International Regulatory Affairs.
