Rancorous planes target Mosul airport, civil installations |
BAGHDAD, INA |
The US administration of evil
and its ally Britain committed a new aggressive crime
against the lofty Iraqi people when their warplanes
targetted Mosul airport in Nineveh province and civil
installations in Al-Nikhayb district, a military
spokesman for Air Defence Command said. "The attack was at 1303 p.m. when US-British planes coming from military bases in Turkey violated our airspace carrying out 12 armed sorties," the spokesman said. The military spokesman added the planes at 1005 a.m. re-violated Iraq's airspace coming from bases in Kuwait, and targetted civil and service installations in Al-Nikhayb. On the other hand, an authorised source at Ministry of Transport and Communications told Iraqi news agency that the US-British planes launched Tuesday midday an aggression on Mosul airport which is used for civilian aviation. "The planes fired two missiles; the first was at 1335 p.m., and the second on 1340 p.m. The aggression resulted in breaking glass of passengers building and destroying the civil radar which secures the safety of civil planes landing and taking off," the source said. This terrorist act runs in contrary to laws and orders of the International Organization of Civil Aviation which secure the safety of the planes and the passengers on the skies and on the airports, he added. The source demanded to condemn and denounce this terrorist act. |
