
Coalition aircraft attack Iraqi SAM sites

WASHINGTON (AFPN) -- An F-16CJ conducting routine enforcement of the northern no-fly zone Jan. 14 fired a high-speed anti-radiation missile at an Iraqi surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft artillery system that posed a threat to coalition forces in the area.
In a separate incident, an F-15E launched an AGM-130 precision-guided missile at a SAM system that threatened coalition forces. The AGM-130A is a powered air-to-surface missile designed for high- and low-altitude strikes at standoff ranges against a variety of targets.
There was no damage to coalition aircraft.
