Iraqi Leadership Threatens Kuwait, Saudi Arabia Baghdad Iraq Television Network in Arabic 2000 GMT 14 Feb 99 [Announcer-read report over video] [FBIS Translated Text] Leader President Saddam Husayn, may God watch over him has presided over a meeting attended by 'Izzat Ibrahim, vice chairman of the Revolution Command Council [RCC]; Taha Yasin Ramadan, vice president; and 'Ali Hasan al-Majid, RCC member. The conferees discussed the current situation and the circumstance of confronting the US-British aggression against the sanctity of our national airspace. The following statement was issued after the meeting: Once again, proceeding from our pan-Arab principles and responsibilities and based on our deep faith in God and the exalted principles of true Islam, we caution the rulers of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and tell them that you are now being involved in an aggressive hateful war in which the people of Najd and Hejaz and the Kuwaiti people have no interest. Those who have interest in this war are the United States and Zionism. Increasing the sea of blood between you on the one hand and the people of Iraq, the principles of right, and all that pleases God, on the other, will keep you like a disoriented person whose doubts and fears drive him to the unknown. If you do not intend this, you must pause and regain your senses and do what satisfies God and the people of the country for which you are responsible. If you are powerless, and you do not harbor a premeditated desire to commit aggression and harm, then with God's help and the support of the sons of our glorious Arab nation, including the genuine and loyal nationalists who are faithful to the customs and meanings of their people and nation in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, we can target the sources and means of the aggression from any place it may be launched. If what you are doing is premeditated and is intended to kill more Iraqi men, women, children, and elders and destroy Iraq's properties, then God is above all. It suffices us that we have presented enough evidence against those who committed aggression to all. Ignominy to the lowly ones before and after. God is great.
