Two members of the terrorist cult Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO), convicted of armed insurrection and waging war against the country, have been executed.

The execution took place on Sunday morning after the Supreme Court upheld the death sentence against the two individuals, identified as Mehdi Hassani and Behrouz Ehsani Eslamiloo.

According to a statement released by Iran's Judiciary, the MKO terrorists manufactured homemade launchers and mortars at a covert house in the capital, Tehran.

They also launched projectiles toward civilians, homes, public service buildings, administrative centers, educational institutions, and charities, and carried out propaganda and harassment activities in support of the MKO.

They further destroyed public property to disrupt the country's security, gathered intelligence, filmed their terrorist acts, and sent data to MKO coordinators to be published in media networks affiliated with the notorious terror group.

Iranian authorities confiscated firearms, bullets, equipment for making mortars, and tools for facial disguise from the terrorists upon their arrest.

Ehsani Eslamloo was identified and detained by Iranian forces while attempting to exit the country via a land border crossing into Turkey.

The MKO has a dismal history of perpetrating heinous attacks against Iranian civilians and officials, killing around 12,000 people since the victory of Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution.

MKO members spent many years in Iraq, where they were hosted and armed by the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. They sided with Saddam during the 1980-88 imposed war against Iran.

MKO terrorists, who are now based in Albania, enjoy freedom of activity in the US and Europe.

A top Iranian criminal court has held 35 hearings on crimes of MKO members. It will hold more trial sessions for the case.
