Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has underlined Iran's resolve to safeguard its rights in response to last month's unprovoked war by the Israeli regime and the United States.

The top diplomat made the remarks in a phone call with his Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani on Wednesday, during which the officials discussed various regional and international affairs.

Araghchi noted how the war took place, despite the Islamic Republic's and the US's being engaged in a diplomatic process aimed at averting aggression.

He said Iran's entitlement to protecting its rights in the face of such violations was enshrined in the United Nations Charter and the international law.

The warfare was imposed by the Israeli regime on the Islamic Republic between June 13 and 25.

Responding to the aggression, the country's Armed Forces engaged in determined and successful defensive operations and retaliatory strikes against sensitive targets throughout the occupied Palestinian territories.

The forces also launched a reprisal using ballistic missiles against al-Udeid, the US's most important regional airbase that is located in Qatar, after Washington joined the war by attacking several Iranian nuclear sites.

Iranian officials have vowed to respond with similar decisiveness to any fresh act of aggression by the duo.

Majlis (the Iranian parliament) also mandated suspension of all cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The latter move came in retaliation against, what Tehran has denounced as, the IAEA chief Rafael Grossi's frequent contact with Israeli officials, and his using fabricated documents provided by the regime to try to justify allegations against the Islamic Republic's peaceful nuclear activities.

Araghchi, additionally, stressed the importance of condemnation of the Israeli-US violations by all countries.

For his part, the Italian official also underscored the imperative nature of recourse to diplomacy as opposed to deployment of force towards resolution of various international issues.
