Foreign minister ridicules Netanyahu's anti-Iran rhetoric, says Israeli PM is haunted by his failures

Tehran, IRNA -- Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has deplored Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for "ridiculously" justifying his recent U.S.-coordinated war with Iran over Tehran's peaceful nuclear program.

"In Iran, he [Netanyahu] dreamed that he could erase 40+ years of peaceful nuclear achievements," Araqchi wrote on his X page on Monday, in reference to the 12-day Israeli-imposed war of aggression.

Calling the Israeli assassination drive a naïve idea, he said "Every one of the dozen Iranian academics that his mercenaries martyred had trained 100+ capable disciples. They will show Netanyahu what they are capable of."

The top diplomat exposed the Israeli prime minister's continued arrogance, despite facing a crushing defeat at the hands of the Iranian Armed Forces.

Having miserably failed to achieve any of his war aims in Iran, he compelled to run to "Daddy" when powerful Iranian missiles flattened secret Israeli regime sites, which Netanyahu is still censoring," Araqchi referred to the Israeli call for U.S. President Donald Trump's help in the face of retaliatory Iranian strikes.

The reaction followed Netanyahu's claim during his visit to Washington last week that the Islamic Republic is "in deep trouble," following the 12-day war and that "Iran could have had a nuclear weapon within a year" if Israel and the U.S. had not attacked last month.

Netanyahu also told Fox that he would like Trump to make an "exceptional deal" that does not allow Iran to either enrich uranium or produce long-range ballistic missiles.

Araqchi described the comments as ridiculous.

"Netanyahu is openly dictating what the U.S. should or shouldn't say or do in talks with Iran," he said, adding that "Apart from farce that Iran will accept anything a wanted war criminal has to say, the inevitable question arises: what exactly is Netanyahu smoking? and if nothing, what exactly does the Mossad have on the White House?"

In his post, the foreign minister also mentioned Netanyahu's claim about his victory in the genocidal war on defenseless Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

"Netanyahu pledged victory in Gaza almost two years ago. The end result: military quagmire, facing arrest warrant for war crimes, and 200,000 new Hamas recruits," Araqchi exposed the Israeli regime's lies in the face of continued resistance by Palestinian fighters.

Netanyahu is facing an arrest warrant issued by the U.N.-backed International Criminal Court (ICC) over war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. The ICC issued the arrest warrant in late November 2024, more than a year after the Israeli regime launched its devastating war on the Palestinian territory.
