The foreign ministers of Iran and France have discussed the latest developments regarding bilateral consular relations and the recent Israeli-imposed war on the Islamic Republic.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot held a phone conversation on Sunday. Araghchi is in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to attend the 17th BRICS Summit.
The top Iranian and French diplomats exchanged views about the latest situation in the region after the acts of aggression by the Israeli regime and the United States against Iran.
On June 13, Israel launched a blatant and unprovoked act of aggression against Iran, assassinating many high-ranking military commanders and nuclear scientists.
On June 22, the United States officially joined Israel's war of aggression against Iran by launching attacks on three nuclear facilities in the country in violation of the United Nations Charter and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
On June 24, the Israeli regime, isolated and abandoned, declared a unilateral halt to its aggression, announced on its behalf by US President Donald Trump.
Araghchi and Barrot also discussed consular relations between Tehran and Paris.
