Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has called on the United Nations and the Security Council to hold Israel and the United States accountable for violating Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In a phone call on Thursday with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, Araghchi condemned the US and Israel for breaching core UN Charter principles and international law.

Araghchi described recent US and Israeli military aggression against Iran, amid indirect Iran-US negotiations, as a severe setback to diplomacy.

"The illegal attacks of the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran in the midst of indirect Iran-US negotiations were a fatal blow to the principle of diplomacy," he stated.

Araghchi affirmed that Iran's armed forces, as demonstrated during a 12-day defense operation, are fully prepared to counter any further aggression from Israel or its supporters.

He criticized certain European nations and the IAEA chief for failing to condemn attacks on Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities, warning that such support for aggressors risks escalating tensions and undermining diplomatic efforts.

Araghchi noted that Iran has suspended cooperation with the IAEA due to safety concerns, with future engagements to be managed solely by Iran's Supreme National Security Council. However, he reaffirmed Iran's commitment to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

In response, Eide stressed the importance of preventing conflict and reducing regional tensions, advocating for a diplomatic resolution to the Iranian nuclear issue and broader stability efforts.

On June 13, Israel launched a blatant and unprovoked act of aggression against Iran, assassinating many high-ranking military commanders, nuclear scientists, and ordinary civilians.

More than a week later, the United States also entered the war by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites in a grave violation of the United Nations Charter, international law, and the NPT.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces targeted strategic sites across the occupied territories as well as the al-Udeid air base in Qatar, the largest American military base in West Asia.

On June 24, Iran, through its successful retaliatory operations against both the Israeli regime and the US, managed to impose a halt to the illegal assault.
