Tehran, IRNA -- Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi says Iran is actively pursuing its right to seek compensation for the damage caused by the recent acts of aggression of the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic.
Araqchi made the remarks in a phone conversation with his Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan, on Tuesday. They discussed Tehran-Yerevan relations and regional developments in the aftermath of the military aggression by the U.S. and Israel.
The top Iranian diplomat said that the international community and the United Nations have a responsibility to hold the U.S. and Israel to account for violating Iran's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as all international regulations and laws.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is seriously pursuing its right to have the aggressor recognized and seek compensation in international organizations," he added.
Mirzoyan, once again, condemned the U.S.-Israeli aggression, saying that Armenia welcomes the cessation of hostilities that would de-escalate the situation in the region.
Israel launched the aggression on Iran on June 13, assassinating top military officials and nuclear scientists in targeted strikes. The regime also attacked homes and other civilian structures, leaving more than 900 people dead, including women and children, in the 12 days of war imposed on the Islamic Republic.
Washington joined the war on June 22 when it bombed three major Iranian nuclear sites, namely Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz, directly becoming involved in the conflict.
The Iranian Armed Forces responded to the U.S.-Israeli aggression powerfully, striking key areas across the Israeli-occupied territories and inflicting heavy damage there. The aggression came to an end following a ceasefire announced on June 24.
