When asked to comment on a media inquiry regarding the US strike on Iranian #nuclear facilities, that the world had actually witnessed US' unilateral attack on a sovereign country, as well as a dangerous and unprecedented incident of attacking nuclear facilities, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Monday that China had made its position clear: attacking nuclear facilities under the safeguard of the International Atomic Energy Agency constitutes a serious violation of the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and international law.

Guo stated that China urges the parties involved in the conflict to prevent the situation from further escalation, resolutely avoid the spillover of war, and return to the path of a political resolution. China is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with all parties, build consensus, uphold justice, and play a constructive role in restoring peace in the Middle East, said Guo.
