When asked whether China was concerned about the energy supply from Iran being disrupted due to the Iran-Israel conflict, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Tuesday that China is deeply concerned about Israel's attack on Iran, which has led to a sudden escalation of regional conflict.

The priority, Guo stated, is for all relevant parties to immediately take measures to de-escalate tensions as soon as possible, to prevent the region from falling into greater turmoil, and to create conditions for returning to dialogue and negotiations to resolve the issue.

Oil prices rose on Tuesday, with analysts saying that uncertainty would keep prices elevated, even as there were no concrete signs of any production losses stemming from the Iran-Israel conflict for now, Reuters reported.

Brent crude futures climbed 54 cents, or 0.7 percent, to $73.77 a barrel as of 0730 GMT. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was up 58 cents, or 0.8percent, at $72.35. Both contracts rose more than 2 percent earlier in the trading session but also notched declines before bouncing back in volatile trading, per Reuters.
