Iran's top security official has dismissed reports of fresh communications with Washington, stressing that no new message has been conveyed to the United States.

In an X post on Tuesday, Ali Larijani underscored that Iran's consistent priority remains the lifting of sanctions, which he described as the central objective of the government's diplomatic efforts.

"Can anyone claim that we desire sanctions? All the government's objectives and diplomatic efforts are focused on ending them," he said.

He explained that the absence of new messages stems from the fact that previous negotiations had already taken place, but the US showed no willingness to reach an agreement.

The remarks come amid ongoing speculation about indirect contacts between Tehran and Washington over nuclear and regional issues.

Iran has repeatedly emphasized that sanctions relief is the cornerstone of any potential diplomatic progress, but that the United States has failed to demonstrate a genuine readiness to reach a deal.

Iran and the US held five rounds of talks earlier this year on finding a replacement for the 2015 nuclear deal, under which Iran committed to confidence-building limits on its nuclear work in exchange for sanctions removal.

But the US and Israel launched a 12-day campaign of aerial aggression against Iran on the eve of the sixth round, killing hundreds of people and damaging the country's military and nuclear infrastructure.
