Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has declared that the recent 12-day war exposes the United States' enduring hostility, underscoring that while its tactics have evolved, its fundamental goal of opposing a strong and independent Iran remains unchanged.

Speaking at a ceremony marking the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance on Tuesday, Qalibaf reflected on the historical significance of 13 Aban (November 4) in Iran's contemporary history, linking it to the nation's enduring resistance to foreign domination.

Hundreds of thousands of Iranians rallied across Tehran and more than 900 cities nationwide on Tuesday to mark the anniversary of the 1979 US Embassy takeover, an event observed as the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance.

Qalibaf underscored that the essence of the hegemonic system remains rooted in "blackmail and domination," slamming the US for continuing its hostile mentality under a new guise.

"The recent 12-day war also showed that their face has changed, but their barbarity and hostility towards independent nations, especially Iran, remain constant," he said, referring to a recent US-Israeli aggression in June that martyred high-ranking military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians.

Qalibaf added that the enemies "want to hide their criminal face with expressions like 'preemptive attack,' but the truth is that they are opposed to an independent and unified Iran."

"The basis of 13 Aban is the Iranian nation's resistance to domination and arrogance," he stated, emphasizing that this principle remains the cornerstone of Iran's foreign policy, which must be based on national interests.

He highlighted the continued hostility of the hegemonic regime, noting that the "nature of the hegemonic regime has not changed today."

"The same mentality of the Carter administration is being repeated against the Iranian nation, with more advanced tools. They assassinate our scientists in the heart of Tehran and believe that a strong Iran should not exist; and if it does, it should not be independent," he warned.

He cautioned that "the ultimate goal of the hegemonic system is nothing but blackmail and domination."

"Today, with the same old mentality, the US President [Donald Trump] is trying to bargain and take away the independence and prosperity of the Iranian nation through empty promises and political games," he added.

Qalibaf warned that global arrogance now wages psychological warfare by "pumping despair and self-deprecation," denouncing Western media empires for trying to persuade Iranian youth that progress is unattainable without dependence on the West.

He countered this by pointing to Iran's achievements in nuclear, nano, defense, and medical technologies.

He reaffirmed Iran's path as one of "authority and rationality," built on faith, science, and justice, and vowed that the nation would not be captured by pressure or sanctions.
