Tehran, IRNA -- Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says the Islamic Republic of Iran is at the highest level of readiness to deal with foreign threats, including an aggressive encounter with the Israeli regime.
Araghchi made the remarks during an interview with the Qatar-based Al Jazeera network on Saturday, addressing issues related to Iran's foreign policy and regional matters.
Warning that Israel would suffer another defeat if it tried another military mischief, he emphasized, "Iran gained significant experience from the previous war and tested its missiles in a real battle. If the Zionist regime carries out any aggressive action, the consequences will be severe for it."
He further said that the Tel Aviv regime tried to expand the war to the region by targeting Iran's oil facilities, but the Islamic Republic managed the imposed war well and prevented it from spreading throughout the region.
Calling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a war criminal and Israel a real enemy to the region, the Foreign Minister stressed that "the Israeli regime would not have waged a war against Iran without the green light from the United States."
He also addressed the question related to Iran's nuclear program and negotiations, attributing the failure of the indirect talks to "unacceptable and impossible conditions" of the United States. "We were ready to negotiate to alleviate concerns over our nuclear program, as we were confident in its peaceful nature."
Referring to the Western pressure on Iran to stop uranium enrichment, Araghchi said what could not have been achieved through war cannot be gained through political means.
The top diplomat also rejected any negotiations on Iran's missile program, saying "no rational person will accept disarming himself."
