Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Tuesday said that Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had reached an understanding on resuming safeguards cooperation. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi stated that the two sides agreed on a feasible model to restore inspections, calling it an important step in the right direction. In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Wednesday that China welcomes the understanding reached between Iran and the IAEA on resuming safeguards cooperation. This is a positive step toward easing tensions over the Iranian nuclear issue and rebuilding mutual trust among parties.
The current situation regarding the Iranian nuclear issue remains fragile. China calls on all parties to continue increasing diplomatic efforts, engage in constructive dialogue, avoid actions that may escalate tensions, and resume negotiations as soon as possible to reach a fair and lasting solution that accommodates the legitimate concerns of all parties, said the spokesperson.
