Enemy revealed its true and unmasked face in 12-day war: Official

Tehran, IRNA -- Expediency Council Chairman Sadeq Amoli Larijani has highlighted the strength of the Armed Forces and the unity of the Iranian people during the 12-day imposed war, emphasizing that the enemy revealed its true, unmasked nature during the conflict.

Leader of Iraq's National Wisdom Movement (NWM) Seyed Ammar al-Hakim, who traveled to Tehran to meet and hold consultations with Iranian officials, met with Amoli Larijani on Sunday.

In the discussion, Amoli Larijani emphasized that the recent enemy attacks on Iran, in the midst of negotiations, led some individuals within the country, who previously believed the Islamic Republic was opposed to negotiations, to reconsider their views.

Referring to the strength of the Armed Forces and the unity of the Iranian people in the 12-day war, he said, "This strength and unity shattered the false dreams and plans of those who imagined a political system in Iran after the Islamic Republic."

Elsewhere in his remarks, Amoli Larijani expressed gratitude for the cooperation of the Iraqi people and described the bond between Iran and Iraq as unbreakable.

Pointing to the necessity of maintaining vigilance against the enemy's attempts to create division, which aim to weaken the sovereignty of Islamic countries, including Iraq, he said, "The goal of the United States and the Israeli regime in pressuring Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) is to facilitate the disintegration or weakening of regional countries to establish what is referred to as Greater Israel."

For his part, Hakim said that the people of Iraq and Islamic countries felt proud of Iran's victory in the 12-day war, adding, "The resilience of the Iranians against the aggressions of the Zionist regime has enhanced the international standing of the Islamic Republic and inspired the Islamic world."

He highlighted the strong bond between the nations of Iran and Iraq, emphasizing the need to expand comprehensive cooperation, particularly in trade exchanges.
