Pezeshkian-Putin meeting was fruitful: VP for communications affairs

Tehran, IRNA -- Mehdi Tabatabaei, Vice President for Communications and Information Affairs, has emphasized the importance of maintaining Iran's distinguished position amid shifting global power dynamics, saying that a fruitful meeting was held between President Masoud Pezeshkian and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Tianjin, China, on Monday.
In a post on his X account, Tabatabaei described the two-hour meeting as very productive and important, highlighting the constructive nature of bilateral discussions.
Tabatabaei noted that the contemporary world is witnessing a rejection of unilateralism and coercion, underscoring the necessity for Iran to safeguard its prominent role during this pivotal period of power redistribution.
The two presidents met on the sidelines of the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin, China, on Monday.
