
Iran's air defense must boost its effectiveness against emerging threats: Top general

Tehran, IRNA -- Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, has said that the Air Defense Force, as the frontline of defending national sovereignty, should develop its effectiveness against emerging threats and to successfully counter the enemy's potential aggressions.
In a message marking National Air Defense Day, General Mousavi highlighted the evolving regional and global security landscape, citing the valuable experiences of the Iranian nation during the eight-year Sacred Defense and the 12-day war imposed by the Israeli regime and the United States. These developments, he said, underscore the urgent need to modernize systems, strengthen capabilities, and boost the operational readiness of Iran's air defense.
Undoubtedly, Iran's air defense, as the frontline of defending national sovereignty, must stabilize and develop its efficiency and power at a level proportional to emerging threats and successful confrontation with the enemy's potential aggressions by utilizing modern technologies, indigenous initiatives, and investing in committed and specialized human resources, he added.
Additionally, the implementation of the country's integrated air defense system and enhancing the coordination, synergy, and the reliable and key role of Iran's Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in this field guarantees the efficiency of comprehensive defense against enemies, he noted
