Tehran, IRNA -- Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi says Armenia has provided detailed explanations and assurances regarding regional transit routes, as well as a recent trilateral meeting in Washington between the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States.
Immediately after a meeting between President Masoud Pezeshkian and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Yerevan on Tuesday, Araqchi told Iran's state television that the negotiations were "serious" and covered both economic and cultural cooperation.
He said Yerevan had assured Tehran it recognized Iran's red lines and would not allow its territory to be used against the Islamic Republic.
The foreign minister added that the two countries had agreed to finalize a comprehensive long-term strategic partnership document.
During their meeting, Prime Minister Pashinyan told President Pezeshkian that a planned corridor linking Azerbaijan with its exclave will be under Armenian control.
The land corridor is part of a deal signed earlier this month in Washington between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
