The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force has dismantled two terrorist teams involved in plots to carry out acts of sabotage and terrorist operations in the country's southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

The IRGC Quds Force said in a statement on Sunday that its forces conducted separate operations in cooperation with other security and intelligence bodies and killed six terrorists at their hideouts in the northern and southern parts of the province. Two terrorists were also detained.

According to the statement, 25 kilograms of explosives, ready-to-explode bombs, detonators, remote controls, fuse wires, radios, and other military and operational equipment have also been confiscated in the city of Chabahar.

In another operation in the northern parts of Sistan and Baluchestan, six armed terrorists were detained in their hideout. A number of terrorists were also arrested.

Sistan and Baluchestan, which borders Pakistan and Afghanistan, has long been the site of frequent clashes between Iranian security forces and Takfiri terrorists as well as drug traffickers.

Iranian forces have protected the border and managed to repel almost all assaults by foreign-backed terrorists.
