
Foreign Minister Araqchi, Armenian deputy foreign minister discuss regional developments in Tehran

Tehran, IRNA -- Armenia's Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan, who is on a visit to Tehran, has met and conferred with Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
During the meeting on Wednesday, the two officials reviewed the latest developments across the region.
The Armenian diplomat had already met with Ali-Akbar Velayati, an advisor to Leader of the Islamic Revolution on international affairs.
Velayati criticized "extra-regional countries" whose presence he said causes instability, warning that any action threatening Iran's national security would receive an appropriate response.
He expressed support for expanding cooperation with Armenia and emphasized Iran's commitment to peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Kostanyan provided an update on recent regional developments and negotiations in Washington, stressing the importance of maintaining historical ties and good neighborly relations between Armenia and Iran.
He noted that his country is deeply committed to friendly relations with Iran and values these historical bonds. Kostanyan further assured that the friendship between the two countries would remain strong.
