Iran to hold Presidential election on June 28

The heads of the three powers in Iran have agreed to hold presidential elections in the country on June 28, following the initial agreement that took place today between Iran's Guardian Council and the Elections Commission.
Tehran -ISNA- It was decided during the initial agreement that elections would be held on June 28, to appoint a new president for the country on July 8.
According to the approved electoral calendar, candidates will be registered during the period from June 10 to 14, and the electoral campaign period will be from June 23 until the morning of July 7.
Article 131 of the Iranian Constitution states that in the case of the passing of the President of the Republic, the first vice president assumes the authority and duties of the president with the approval of the Leader of the Revolution and the Islamic Republic of Iran for a maximum period of 50 days.
On August 6, 2021, President Ebrahim Raisi appointed Mohammad Mokhber, born in 1955, as his deputy in Khuzestan Province.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi alongside Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and accompanying officials were martyred Sunday in the tragic helicopter crash in Iran's East Azerbaijan Province.
A source stressed, earlier, that the path of martyr President Ibrahim Raisi would continue without any disruption during an emergency session with the heads of the judicial and legislative branches.
