Bushehr, IRNA -- A foreign tanker has been seized off the coast of Bushehr Province, southern Iran, for transporting smuggled fuel, a provincial commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has said
Brigadier General Heydar Honarian Mojarrad told reporters on Sunday that the vessel, which was sailing under the flag of an Oceanian country, was carrying 2 million liters of smuggled diesel.
He said that the seizure took place upon a court order.
The commander added that the vessel had 14 crew members from two Asian countries, who have been arrested and handed over to judicial authorities.
Based on the court order, the smuggled fuel would be delivered to the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, he said.
