Technical failure behind crash of defense system in north Iran

Tehran, IRNA -- The Iranian Defense Ministry spokesperson has announced that the malfunction of a defense system in a city in the north of the country led to the crash of the military system under the test after diverting from its original path.
Reza Talaei-Nik made the announcement on a live TV program while elaborating on the event occurred in Gorgan, north of Iran.
The rescue and operational teams are busy finding and gathering the debris from the crash, the spokesperson noted.
About the incident, it is reported that it happened after the Ministry of Defense was testing a missile system, which was equipped with a raining warhead, in a barren area.
The Iranian Ministry of Defense is to release a statement later in the day to give details about the incident.
