Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian President stated, "Today, we should be proud that not only the country's oil industry is no longer dependent on the presence of foreign consultants, but the capabilities of the country's oil industry specialists have reached a level that today the Islamic Republic, as a powerful and technological country, is comparable to other countries, and also provides technical and engineering services, especially to the countries under sanctions of hegemons".
Speaking at the ceremony of "starting gas production from phase 11 of the South Pars common field" in Asaluyeh, President Ebrahim Raisi described the launch of this phase as a big and lasting step in the field of oil and gas industry of the country and said, "The implementation of this project by the competent domestic experts took place while the foreign companies that were parties to the contract had abandoned their obligations under the pretext of sanctions and the country was under the most severe sanctions".
The President called the transfer of the gas platform from phase 12 of South Pars field to this field and the launch of this project 3 years earlier than the time required for the implementation of such a project as other special features of this project and added, "In the implementation of this project, there were also significant financial savings".
President Raisi described the implementation of this project as a complex technical operation and in a way unique and income-generating for the country and stated, "By launching this phase, a significant part of our country's rights will be claimed from the common fields, and therefore I sincerely appreciate the efforts of the oil industry in this sector and the patience of their families".
Pointing out that the production of 7 million cubic meters of this phase will increase to more than 50 million cubic meters, the President stated, "Today, measures and plans in the field of oil and gas and energy in general are being followed with high motivation in the country".
The President stated, "Today, we should be proud that not only the country's oil industry is no longer dependent on the presence of foreign consultants, but the capabilities of the country's oil industry specialists have reached a level that today the Islamic Republic, as a powerful and technological country, is comparable to other countries, and also provides technical and engineering services, especially to the countries under sanctions of hegemons".
Upon his arrival in Asaluyeh city, President Raisi visited the site of phase 11 of the South Pars field, which is the largest joint gas field in the world, and visited the platform and gas production facilities of the southernmost and one of the most important phases of the Iranian part of this huge field.
President visited its various parts and was briefed about the details of the unique operation of transferring the platform of this phase of the twelfth phase and also the launch of this important phase of South Pars Square.
During this visit, the President also had a conversation with the workers and engineers present at this platform who work day and night in this production field in harsh sea conditions.
Phase 11 is the southernmost and border phase of the South Pars gas field, and in this sense, it is the most important phase of this field, because if it is not extracted, the gas will migrate to the southern parts.
Over the past 20 years, the operation of launching this phase was entrusted to foreign companies many times, but these companies left the construction and launch operations unfinished each time under the pretext of embargo, until in the year 1400, when the 13th Administration took office, this project was given priority and by handing them over to domestic companies and relying on the capabilities of our country's experts, after a 20-year hiatus, it has been opened today and gas production operations will begin after 2 years of jihadist and round-the-clock efforts.
By exploiting this phase, 56 million cubic meters will be added to the production of gas and gas condensate in the country, which will provide the country with an income of 5 billion dollars per year and will increase the gross domestic product by about 1%.
