Iranian Chief of Staff: Power balance changing from West to East

Tehran (ISNA) - The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri said, "Today there are new signs about changing the power balance form the West to the East and the future belongs to our region and Asia".
General Mohammad Bagheri, who paid an official visit to Oman at the head of a military high-ranking delegation, held a meeting on Monday with Chief of Staff of the Omani Armed Forces Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis Al Raisi.
As General Bagheri described the Persian Gulf and Western Asia as one of the most sensitive regions of the world, saying, "In the past years, the region has been a place for Americans' coercion who tried to impose themselves as an absolute ruler against the world and the region".
He went on to say, "Today there are new signs about changing the power balance from the West to the East and it is noteworthy to stress that the future belongs to our region and Asia".
"Iran-Oman ties are prominent, friendly and intimate. We believe that the security of sea borders should be strengthened and we are ready to come up with a common plan in the light of joint maritime to counter with drug trafficking," General Mohammad Bagheri added.
He concluded, "Palestine issue is one of the essential issues for the Islamic Republic of Iran and Islam world. Today Zionist regime is under pressure from all communities and we witness a dichotomy in their sovereignty".
Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis Al Raisi, in his turn, said, "We are children of one region, so we comprehend our own benefits better than other people. We also believe that we can provide the security of the region by unity and solidarity of regional countries".
He expressed his satisfaction with Iran-Saudi Arabia, while considering the ties as one of the ways to prevent foreign countries' interference and to enhance the security of the region.
