Tehran (ISNA) - The spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi reacted to the recent report released by Bloomberg that claimed "Iran accumulated uranium enriched to 84% purity".
Behrouz Kamalvandi in an interview with ISNA declared, "This issue is irrelevant and they aim to distort the realities by releasing these sorts of news. Moreover, this is a normal thing and Iran does not need to hide anything. Even the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has not reported such a thing".
He noted, "These sorts of news are released with the aim of smearing Iran. We have never accumulated uranium enriched to more than 60% purity".
Bloomberg has claimed, "The International Atomic Energy Agency is trying to clarify how Iran accumulated uranium enriched to 84% purity — the highest level found by inspectors in the country to date, and a concentration just 6% below what's needed for a weapon". However, the AEOI spokesman has rejected all these allegations.
