Tehran (ISNA) - Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani has strongly condemned the European Union and the UK sanctions against Iranian individuals and institutions.
Kanaani, in reaction to the recent bans, described the imposition of the sanctions as baseless, illegal and an intervention in Iran's internal affairs, while totally rejecting them.
The foreign ministry spokesman added it seems addiction to sanctions has sidelined rationality and calculation on part of the Europeans, saying it is Europe that is tightening the noose around its interactions through sanctions and wrong approaches.
Kanaani stressed the Islamic Republic of Iran, relying on its national power and using its exclusive experiences in actively facing the imposed challenges, like before, will respond proportionately to such non-constructive and futile measures with insight and vigour while pursuing dignity and national interests and will keep the right to respond to the sanctions.
