Iran's Bavar-373 missile defense system successfully hits target

Tehran (ISNA) - Bavar-373 missile defense system successfully hit an intended target at a range of 305 km, Iran's Defense Minister announced on Sunday.
During the unveiling ceremony of extended homegrown missile defense system "Bavar 373" and the "Sayyad-4" guided missile production line, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Gharaei Ashtiani said, "Today, we unveiled one of the tremendous and great defense and national achievements. Iran's Ministry of Defence has the mission of providing the armed forces with weapons and equipment to encounter threats to the country".
"Iranian experts at Defense Ministry and Defense Industry managed to produce Bavar 373. This missile defense can deal with stationary aerial targets, ballistic missiles and all kinds of fighter and bomber planes. The defense system can destroy 6 targets, and many countries with technology in the world are keen on having such a system," he added.
"This system will definitely play a significant role in improving the combat capability of Iran's armed forces," General Ashtiani stressed.
