Iran vows response to attempts aimed at violating its sovereignty

Tehran, IRNA -- Spokesman of Iran's Foreign Ministry Nasser Kanaani said on Saturday that attempts aimed at violating the country's sovereignty will not go unanswered.

Kanani made the comment on his twitter page in reaction to the US move to adjust anti-Iran sanctions in order to expand the range of internet services available to Iranians amid the recent riots in the country.

The spokesman said that the US has always been seeking to weaken security and stability in Iran, but has failed to achieve its goals.

Now, he added, Washington is acting hypocritically to achieve its goals by relaxing some sanctions but keeping its maximum pressure campaign against Iran at the same time.

Kanaani stressed that the attempts aimed at violating the sovereignty of Iran will not go unanswered.
