Exclusive: Kanaani ready to exchange prisoners with US

Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani in an exclusive interview with ISNA News Agency declared that independently of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iran was ready to exchange prisoners with the US.
When asked about the details of exchanging abroad prisoners, the Iranian spokesman told the reporter, "Yes, regarding this issue, negotiations have been conducted through different ways and the sides make necessary agreements over the case. Independently of the JCPOA, we are ready to exchange prisoners between Iran and the US".
He went on to say, "Now, it is America's decision whether to implement the agreement or not".
Regarding an Iranian who was arrested in Saudi Arabia during the haj pilgrimage in July, Kanaani stressed, "We expect that Saudi Arabia takes serious measures as a humane issue as soon as possible".
Regarding Iran's frozen assets in South Korea, Nasser Kanaani stressed, "Unfortunately, South Korea's administration hasn't done anything yet in this case".
