New York, IRNA -- Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi said in a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on Friday that the Islamic Republic of Iran wouldn't give ground to the United States' bullying.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 22nd Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, with the two leaders discussing bilateral ties.

Raisi thanked China for its constructive stances regarding Iran's full membership in the SCO and the country's contribution to Iran's ascension to the BRICS grouping.

The Iranian President dubbed the Iran-China strategic comprehensive cooperation plan a signed the two nation's determination for expanding ties in all areas.

The existing capabilities of the two countries in oil and energy, transit, agriculture, trade, and investment make a proper ground for deepening economic ties, President Raisi noted.

He also highlighted the US and Europeans' breach of covenant regarding their commitments in removing sanctions against Iran and said that Iran wouldn't retreat against the US' bullying.

China's President Xi praised Iran's independent stances in international issues and said that the two countries' ties are strategic and would expand regardless of international developments.

President Xi also expressed China's readiness to leverage interactive mechanisms, especially interaction between high-profile delegates from both countries.

He underscored Iran's significant role in international and regional issues and reassured China's support for Iran's accession to BRICS.

Xi officially invited President Raisi to pay a visit to China.
