Iran minister terms air defense as self-sufficient, independent

Tehran, IRNA -- Iran's Minister of Interior Ahmad Vahidi said on Thursday that the Islamic Republic of Iran is independent and self-sufficient enjoying the latest technology and equipment in air defense.
On the occasion of the National Day of Air Defense, Vahidi made remarks at the Shahid Nojeh Air Base, Hamedan.
Vahidi said that Iran's capability, authority, and self-sufficiency in the field of defense and military equipment are such that the air defense complex has the most sophisticated military and radar equipment.
Pointing to the advanced technologies in Iran's Army, he highlighted that to pursue drones, we need modern and up-to-date equipment in this field, and Iranian-made radars are among the best equipment in the world where long-range equipment works with these radars so that they can easily detect and intercept enemy jet fighters.
Vahidi stressed the greatest amount of radar equipment in the field of Iranian air defense is domestic, and these military pieces of equipment can detect, and pursue the enemy momentarily.
The strength of the Iranian armed forces has resonated in the world, as the most sophisticated weapons are related to Islamic Iran's air defenses, he reiterated.
