Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian heading a political and economic delegation will begin his tour to Africa on Monday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani announced.
Speaking at a weekly press conference on Monday, Kanaani said, "At the head of the high-ranking delegation, Amir-Abdollahian will travel to Mali, Tanzania as well as Zanzibar. During the visit, a number of Iranian businessmen from private section will also accompany the minister".
He also pointed to the anniversary of the 1953 Iranian coup d'état, saying, "The 1953 Iranian coup d'état is another disgraceful and shameful evidence of the illegal and aggressive interference of the US in the internal affairs of other countries".
Elsewhere in his remarks, Kanaani said, "The Vienna talks are still continuing, so it would be better to avoid mentioning details and the next phase, which has not yet taken place".
Regarding the European Union's proposal, the Iranian spokesman declared, "The Iranian side offered its own response to the proposal at the expected time based on a constructive and responsible approach".
"We haven't received American's response to the EU's proposal yet and when the European side announces that they receive the American's response, we can talk about the effectiveness of this round of talks," he added.
Kanaani emphasized, "Although there are a few remaining issues, they are important and should be taken some measures and reach an agreement over them".
When asked about if the US opposes to the proposal and Iran's stances, what the Iranian reaction could be, Kanaani said, "As we've stated many times, the issue of lifting sanctions is just one of the only issues of our foreign relations, and we haven't interwoven other issues including commercial ones to the negotiations over lifting the sanctions".
With regard to Zionist Regime's claims saying that the potential agreement is not favorable, the Iranian spokesman stated, "It is beneficial for the US administration to pursue the talks and the process of lifting sanctions based on its own people's interest. The Zionist Regime's role has been always destructive in the regional issues including Iran and we don't rather expect it than otherwise as the nature of the regime is clear".
In the light of Iran- Saudi Arabia relations after the potential agreement over reviving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), he said, "We don't see our relations with Saudi Arabia in the framework of nuclear issues. Iran and Saudi Arabia are two important actors of the region possessing mutual interests, as they can have a constructive role in regional issues".
"We consider our relations with regional countries including Saudi Arabia separate from the context of JCPOA," he added.
Regarding the news released in case of reviving the diplomatic ties between Turkey and the Zionist Regime, Kanaani noted, "We don't remark upon the foreign relations of countries. In this matter, Iran's perspective towards the Zionist Regime is the only thing that I can say, so Iran's stances are clear. Having interactions with the Regime doesn't help the Palestinians' rights and peace and stability to be established".
According to the latest developments in Iraq and whether Iran is in contact with different political groups of the country, the Iranian spokesman stated, "Our relations with Iraq administration based on the mutual interests are close and constructive. We, also, have good relations with political Iraqi groups. There is no pause in the process of these talks and interactions".
