Final stage of reaching deal contingent upon US side's realistic behavior, flexibility: Iran FM

Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Omani counterpart Badr al-Busaidi have held talks on the phone over bilateral ties as well as some regional and international issues.
Amir-Abdollahian extended Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's greetings to Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and appreciated the sultanate's positive views on the expansion of bilateral and regional cooperation.
The Iranian foreign minister referred to the latest developments concerning the sanctions removal talks and the initiatives put forth by the Iranian side to keep the window of diplomacy open. He stressed that the final stage of reaching a deal is contingent upon the US side's realistic behavior and flexibility.
Amir-Abdollahian said the Islamic Republic of Iran is serious about reaching a lasting and robust deal.
The top Iranian diplomat added that Tehran cares about energy and food security in the world and has put forth different initiatives as it understands the current energy problems of the world.
The Omani foreign minister also referred in the telephone conversation to his assessment of the parties to the sanctions removal talks and noted that his country views reaching an agreement in the nuclear negotiations as necessary. Badr al-Busaidi said, "We Believe that all sides want to reach a final deal and a golden opportunity is at hand to do so."
Oman's Foreign Minister underlined that Muscat has always supported an agreement in the sanctions removal talks and also backed Iran's legitimate demands.
