Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said, "During the recent negotiations over the reviving of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), we haven't suggested any excessive demands allegedly claimed by the US".

After holding a meeting with Qatar's Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian told reporters during the press conference, "Our demands are totally based on the 2015 deal".

"During the recent talks, we focused on one major issue. American should provide an effective guarantee in those fields which affect the interest of Iran's economy, so this is not excessive," he added.

He added that Qatar has always played a positive role in regional talks and taken constructive measures as well, while stating that they had positive talks regarding the need of strengthening regional mechanisms and intra-regional cooperation.

Qatari Foreign Minister, for his part, emphasized, "We welcome Iran's regional talks".

"We want our relations with neighboring countries to be improved. These prosperous relations among the neighboring countries can serve our nations," he added.
