Bandar Abbas, IRNA -- The Islamic Revolutions Guards Corps' navy commander has announced that a warship that is named after General Qassem Soleimani will join the IRGC.
The General Soleimani warship can also carry helicopters, Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri said, according to the Tuesday report of the IRGC public relations office.
Tangsiri, who was speaking on the occasion of the International Day of Seafarer on June 25, said the presence of extra-regional foreigners has been fading out; meanwhile, enemies are in the waters of the neighboring countries, which means insecurity.
The foreigners are in the southern waters of the Persian Gulf but not in the Islamic Republic of Iran's waters, the commander noted.
Referring to the full preparedness of the naval forces, the commander said that the region is vigilantly under control.
Speaking about two Greek ships seized by the IRGC as a reciprocal measure, the commander said the IRGC naval forces did it with strength and power.
"Iranians will never bow down to pressure."
