Tehran (ISNA) - Pointing out that Iranians abroad are the assets of Islamic Iran, President Ebrahim Raisi said, "Today, in the negotiations with the Emir of Qatar and in the conversation I had with the Prime Minister of this country, there is a serious will to expand trade and economic relations".
Speaking in a meeting with Iranians living in Qatar on Monday evening, President Ebrahim Raisi said that the relations between the peoples of the region are rooted in their common beliefs and culture, saying, "We must work to strengthen these assets and not allow them to be ignored in the age of digital communication".
Emphasizing that this original culture must be passed on to future generations, the President added, "The original Iranian Islamic culture and what pertains to the people of the region have brought us together across geographical borders".
Stating that Iranians abroad have the same rights as Iranians inside the country and the government has duties and responsibilities towards them, President Raisi said, "All Iranians abroad should try to maintain their relationship with the culture of their homeland, and the country's administrative apparatus is also obliged to facilitate this relationship".
Pointing out that Iranians abroad consider Islamic Iran to be the best place for investment and economic activity, the President clarified, "The field of presence and economic activity and investment of Iranians abroad within Iran's borders should be facilitated more than before".
Inviting Iranians abroad who are active in the economic sector to be present and active in our country, Ayatollah Raisi said, "We are all obliged to try to increase Iran's exports. Today, unfortunately, our share in the region's economy is not in its proper place, while Iranian products in the region have an acceptable and competitive standard".
The President continued, "In the talks with the Emir of Qatar and in the conversation I had with the Prime Minister of this country, there is a serious will to expand trade and economic relations, so you Iranians living in Qatar can play a very effective role in realising this will".
Ayatollah Raisi said, "Despite the will of the enemies, the Islamic Republic of Iran has made significant progress in various fields, including those that were under the most severe sanctions and pressures".
"These very developments have led US officials today to officially acknowledge that the policy of maximum pressure against the maximum resistance of the Iranian people has failed miserably," he said.
In another part of his speech, the President said that the 13th Administration has put a lot of cooperation capacity with its neighbours at the centre of developing its foreign relations, adding, "In the months since the beginning of the Popular Administration, relations with neighbours have tripled with some countries, indicating that little attention was paid to these capacities in the past".
Emphasizing that he has no doubt that the future of the country is very bright and hopeful, the President stated, "This is not just a claim, I know the country and its potentials".
