ISNA (Tehran) - "Iran's negotiating delegation will return to Vienna, tomorrow." Iranian Foreign Ministry's spokesman says.
In his weekly press conference on Monday, Khatibzadeh responded to a question regarded the progress that had been made during the Vienna talks in the field of guarantees and said, "Let what is discussed and consulted in the negotiation not be raised in public".
"In regard with obtaining guarantees, its various dimensions have been discussed and consulted by presenting creative solutions and initiatives that have been taken. Some agreements have been reached, but we must not forget that nothing is agreed upon unless everything is agreed upon", he continued.
Regarding Iran-Azerbaijan relations and the visit of two countries' officials to Tehran and Baku, Khatibzadeh stated, "The relations have overcome some media misunderstandings".
Once again he stressed on public diplomacy in relations with other countries, adding that necessary measures and collaborations are being taken between Iran and Azerbaijan on the issue of reconstruction and regional cooperation.
Mentioning the Persian Gulf-Black Sea corridor, Khatibzadeh made an example of the collaboration, saying "It is true that Iran is coordinating this process, but Azerbaijan, Armenia, Greece and Bulgaria are also present in this procedure. That is to say, Iran emphasizes endogenous regional arrangements".
Regarding the latest Turkish military attacks on the northern region of Iraq and if these attacks are messaging Iran, the spokesman noted, "Respecting Iraq's territorial integrity is a serious issue for Iran".
"The borders of Iran and Turkey have been the borders of peace and friendship for many years. The relations between the two countries are natural and we are far from geopolitical conflicts for many years," he added.
About Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, a former Afghan official's recent visit to Iran, Khatibzadeh reiterated, "Tehran has regularly hosted various respected Afghan groups and figures with the emphasis on inter-Afghan dialogue".
Referring to the presence of several million Afghan refugees in Iran and problems in this regard, he said, "Unfortunately, no significant assistance has been provided to Iran by international institutes, whilst the organizations know that the refugees are enduring a difficult situation".
The official expressed Iran's readiness toward the eighth round of Vienna talks which will resume this Tuesday, adding that Tehran expects the necessary decisions have been taken by the other parties, especially Washington, on the issue of lifting sanctions and Iran's benefits from the JCPOA.
"We expect the delegations, including the Americans, to return to Vienna with clear instructions to fulfill their obligations in line with the UN Security Council and the lifting of sanctions," he insisted, mentioning that "There are significant issues on the agenda that are unlikely to open except with Washington's political decisions."
The Iranian official emphasized that the country's serious focus is on the economic benefits of the Iranian people from the JCPOA, while saying, "The United States has decided to take action in the area that it wants, and these are not cases that are worth paying serious attention to. What is worthwhile is for the United States to return to Vienna with a clear agenda and necessary decisions".
"The Iranian negotiating delegation has gone to Vienna from the first day with all its necessary permits and capabilities, and we hope that these decisions will be taken by the other side," he reminded.
Continuing his remarks, Khatibzadeh spoke about the next round of Iran-Saudi talks in Iraq and the recent telephone consultation between Iraqi Prime Minister and Iranian President and said, "We welcome and appreciate the moves and efforts of Iraqi government to expand diplomacy in the region".
Regarding the recent decision of the African Union to cancel the membership of the Zionist regime in the union, he affirmed, "We support the countries that took a stand against the actions of this regime, and this action of the African Union sends a great message to those in the region who are moving in the direction of normalizing relations with this regime by miscalculation".
