Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh stressed that Vienna talks have made significant progress in all areas in the last three weeks.
Speaking at a weekly press conference on Monday, Khatibzadeh said, "Over the last three weeks, Iranian delegation at Vienna talks submitted the written text of its initiatives to the other parties and now we are waiting for their response. We hope to reach a good result in the field of lifting sanctions".
"Negotiations in the last three weeks have made significant progress in all four fields of lifting sanctions, nuclear commitments, verification and guarantees," the spokesman added.
However, he said, the process of some issues has been slow due to the inaction or lack of initiative and creativity of the other parties.
"We advise these countries, especially the US, to make their decisions when they return to Vienna from their capitals," khatibzadeh stated.
Regarding direct negotiations between Iran and the US in Vienna, the spokesman said, "Iran's position toward this issue is crystal clear. Iran and P4+1 are working to ensure that the US' return to the JCPOA is reliable. In this regard, Iran and the US should exchange views on lifting sanctions, nuclear commitments, verification and guarantees. Informal correspondence between Iran and the United States is handled by the EU coordinator and this path has been chosen based on the other part's behavior".
In response to a question regarding the visit of the Zionist Regime's head to the UAE and the recent remarks of the Zionist PM against Iran, Khatibzadeh said, "Fanning the flames and causing crisis is in the nature of the fake regime of Israel".
He added, "The Zionist regime survives only on the basis of creating a crisis, terrorism, violence, and bloodshed".
"This regime is a disgrace to human society which is trying to transfer its crises to other places," Khatibzadeh noted.
"Countries that take a step on the path of normalization with this regime should know that they are the first victims of the Zionists," he stressed.
