Tehran (ISNA) – Iran's President-elect Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi stressed that his government will pursue broad and balanced interaction in foreign policy.

Speaking at his first press conference on Monday, Raisi said, "The people of Iran created another epic by their turnout in the presidential election. This presence sent an important message to the world. The message was national unity and solidarity. The message was to fight corruption, poverty and discrimination, and in general, to administer justice in all aspects of people's lives".

Pointing to the thirteenth government's policies in foreign policy area, the president-elect said, "The world should know that the maximum pressure on our people has not worked and they must reconsider and return to their commitments. The world should know that our government's foreign policy does not start with the JCPOA and won't be limited to it. We will pursue broad and balanced interaction in foreign policy".

"In any negotiation that national interests are guaranteed, this negotiation will certainly be supported, but we will not tie the economic situation and the conditions of the people to the negotiations and we will not allow negotiations to take place in face of other negotiation and to be eroding. Every meeting should have benefits for the great nation of Iran," Raisi stressed.

"The US should return to the JCPOA and carry out all its commitments under the nuclear deal. The European countries also should not be pressured by the US and fulfill their commitments," he said.
