Tehran (ISNA) - Ambassador and permanent representative of Iran to the International Organizations in Vienna, Kazem Gharib-Abadi stressed on Saturday that the US and its allies opposition shows that entering long-term bilateral and strategic cooperation with China is a right and wise decision.
Gharibabadi in his Instagram account mentioned some points regarding the 25-year strategic cooperation document between Iran and China.
"Iran is under the most severe and illegal sanctions from the US regime. US President Donald Trump has taken up maximum pressure policy against Iran to reach its goals. Having strong infrastructures, unconditional support of the nation for the government, and resistance to the sanctions, Iran should use different international opportunities to fight the sanctions. Creating unions and entering strategic long-term cooperation with safeguarding the national interests and security are among the necessary steps," he wrote.
"China is not only against the US expansionist policies but also has 14.14 trillion dollars of GDP making it the second economic power in the world. China has had the common ideas and stances with Iran in many international issues and in the recent years the country has always opposed decisions against Iran in the framework of international organizations. It is quite natural that the US and its allies try desperately to keep Iran in the fictitious economic isolation and preventing Iran from expanding trade and economic relations with other countries," Gharibabadi added.
"What worries the opponents of the deal is that Iran can develop further despite the sanctions and challenge the hegemonic system and change into another role model like China for the developing countries," the diplomat emphasized.
