Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi condemned US' move to impose sanctions on Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stressing that it reveals US' political and instrumental attitude toward the free Internet access.
"Everyone knows that the current US' administration places no respect on democratic principles and values, transparency and human rights, including the others' free access to internet," Mousavi said on Saturday.
"A review of the US administration's record shows that directors of major social networks and communication companies, such as Twitter, have been pressured to silence the critics and such a policy reveals Washington's political and instrumental approach toward free Internet access" he added.
On Friday, the US Treasury imposed sanctions on Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mohammad Javad Azari-Jahromi.
