Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi said, "If Europe wants to preserve Iran nuclear deal, it should be ready to pay its price".
In a meeting with his Dutch counterpart as well as Dutch Foreign Minister, Stef Blok, Araqchi discussed bilateral, multilateral and regional issues such as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Hormuz Peace Endeavor (HOPE) initiative, navigation security in the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea, regional developments and bilateral economic cooperation.
Criticizing Europe's inaction toward JCPOA, the official who is in The Hague to attend the third round of Iran-Netherlands political consultations mentioned Iran's quadruple steps for reducing its nuclear commitments within the deal and said, "If Europe wants to preserve Iran nuclear deal, it should be ready to pay its price".
"Iran's right to cease all or parts of commitments within JCPOA is recognized and what Tehran has done so far is not considered as the violation of the deal," he said. "Reducing the commitments will continue until Iran's benefits from JCPOA are fulfilled".
Pointing to Hormuz Peace Endeavor (HOPE) initiative presented by Iran's President Hassan Rouhani, Araqchi said, "Peace and security in the Persian Gulf should be provided by the regional countries and this is what the initiative has been designed for. There's no need for coalitions that create more tensions in the region".
The official also stressed that given the existing capacity in economic relations between Iran and Netherlands, it's expected that the Netherlands' government facilitates cooperation between Iranian and Dutch companies and provide necessary assurances for economic firms.
The Dutch side, for its part, insisted on Iran's role in providing regional peace and security, stressing that Netherlands seeks reducing tensions in the region.
Dutch Foreign Minister, Stef Blok stressed on the need of preserving JCPOA, saying, "Netherlands supports France's initiative to find a solution to exit the current crisis".
