Iran, India to expand defence cooperation

Tehran (ISNA) – Indian Minister of Defence, Rajnath Singh discussed ways of expanding defence cooperation in a meeting with Iran's ambassador to India, Ali Chegini.
Pointing to the records of friendship and historical ties between Iran and India, the Indian official welcomed offers by Iranian side to develop defence interaction, especially in scientific and training areas, counterterrorism experience and information exchange, piracy and exchanging delegations in deferent levels, as well as search and rescue in the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean.
Introducing Iran's new military attaché to New Delhi, Chegini handed over Iran's Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Amir Hatami Amir Hatami's written message to his Indian counterpart and briefed on Iran's capabilities in manufacturing military equipment based on domestic knowledge and self-sufficiency.
