Tehran (ISNA) - Sweden's Ambassador to Russia, Peter Ericson announced that his country intends to join INSTEX, a joint mechanism for settlements with Tehran.

"Sweden would like to continue trade with Iran and therefore intends to join INSTEX, a joint mechanism for settlements with Tehran," RIA Novosti quotes a diplomat.

"Stockholm does not agree with the US policy on withdrawing from the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA)," he said.

"We firmly insist on the implementation of the JCPOA, and we do not agree with the US policy to withdraw from the treaty. We believe that this agreement is very important, and it should be maintained," the ambassador added.

Peter Ericson noted that "the United States, in principle, had no reason to leave it, because Iran and other countries acted within the framework of this agreement."
