Tehran (ISNA) - Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Ali Shamkhani said, Phasic reduction of nuclear commitments is the unchangeable strategy of Iran and the process will continue until Tehran's rights within the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action are totally fulfilled.
During a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron's top diplomatic adviser Emmanuel Bonne on Wednesday, Shamkhani criticized European countries for their inaction towards implementing their commitments within JCPOA and the lack of will to counter US' damaging measures in the multilateral agreement.
"Given the fact that European countries haven't used the one-year opportunity to meet their commitments, our decisive decision is acting proportionally to measures by other sides. The time of unilateral action is over for Iran," Shamkhani said.
He described US maximum pressure as a failed strategy, noting, "Iran has proved in action that it can manage different tensions and challenges in economic, political and defense areas and no one can talks to such a country with force".
"Today, US has seized Europe's independence and EU should stand against US' unilateralism to defend its identity and independence," he added.
