Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif on Wednesday stressed that Iran will raise enrichment level and determine the amount of it in the 2nd phase of reducing its commitments under the nuclear deal.
"Following US President Donald Trump's withdrawal from the nuclear accord known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), we held a meeting at the ministerial level with the three European signatories, followed by two other meetings with the foreign ministers of all remaining members," he said on the sideline of today's cabinet meeting.
"11 commitments were announced at the meetings, including Iran's right to sell its crude, return of the money to Iran, foreign investments in Iran, aviation transportation, shipping and etc…," Zarif noted.
Iranian foreign minister said that none of the commitments included any financial mechanism or Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges (INSTEX), adding, "If the INSTEX gets operational, it will be a prelude to the implementation of the 11 commitments".
"We have explicitly announced that if Europe remains committed to the JCPOA, we will remain too," Zarif stressed.
Stressing that Iran will raise enrichment level above 3.67 percent, he said, "The extent to which Iran should enrich uranium will be decided by Tehran".
