Tehran (ISNA) - Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh stressed that Iran will pursue its policies within the framework of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), but won't observe additional commitments of NPT.

In an interview with ISNA, Falahatpisheh said, "Iran uses the capacity of JCPOA and NPT. Iran will pursue its policies within the framework of JCPOA and NPT, but won't observe additional commitments of NPT".

Regarding Iran's probable responds to US' withdrawal from JCPOA, he said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran will adopt counteraction policies. Without doubt, all the political wings will support the policy".

"Iran should hold serious talks with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the remaining members of the JCPOA to produce fuel needed in the country," the lawmaker stated.

According to the articles of JCPOA, Iran has the right to totally or partially cease its commitments, if any side fails to observe its commitments.

Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh went on to say, "We have implemented a series of additional commitments to NPT which were irrelevant to NPT and related to JCPOA. So, there is no reason now to comply with the commitments in the current situation. It would be better to review these commitments".

"By adopting such policy, we not only remain in JCPOA and NPT but also use the capacities of the two documents in fighting with US' unilateralism against Iran," he added.
